Can I tell you how tired I am of single women complaining about how hard it is to meet a decent man? The problem is not a dearth of quality men. In fact, I know quite a few single gems. The problem exists where the ladies are looking. You aren’t going to find the right man in a sleazy bar or pick-up joint. If you want a man who values integrity, honor, and good sportsmanship, then you have go where the real men are. In the fall, that means your local sports bar.

Football is the all-American game. If you can’t get into the game, you are shunning some of the best guys in town. Here you will find men that truly believe in honor, both on and off the field. Football players aren’t stereotypical big dumb jocks. They have had to work incredibly hard to get where they are, and there are no NFL players who haven’t made a true commitment to the game. The fans are equally committed to the game and their teams. So much for the common complaint that “it’s impossible to find a man who can make a commitment”!

Personally, I’m hooked on the game itself. I love the strategy, the element of surprise, and the emotion (and I’m not terribly opposed to cute butts in tight football pants, either). You may or may not develop your own passion for the game, but you need to garner a basic understanding of how it works if you don’t want to come off like a fool. Guys can spot a fraud miles away, so it’s better to admit your ignorance and ask questions, rather than try to pretend you know the game. Of course, this only works for so long and you need to bone-up on football if you want to hang with the boys. Start with the basics – you need to know what teams are playing, and it really helps to have a favorite. I’m a tried-and-true Raiders fan myself, but they aren’t for the weak-hearted, being the only team in the NFL that has to play against both the opposing team and the selectively-blind referees (personal quibbles aside, of course).

If you don’t have a favorite team in mind, you could simply go with your hometown team. Be it the town you live in now, or the one from which you came. If that doesn’t work for you, then you probably come from Cincinnati or Cleveland, and should pick a random team. I know women who made their selection based on which jersey color looked best on them, which logo they liked best, or which team their despised ex-boyfriend hated the most. However, you make your selection, choose your team, and stay with them through the good times and the bad.

Start reading the sports page. You need to understand what is going on in the football world. At first, very little might make sense, but keep reading and you’ll be surprised at how much you can actually learn. For a high level overview, listen to the sports segment on your local network news. ESPN has a great web site where you can always find the latest stats on all the teams. At the very least, try to know the latest disputed calls, injuries and controversies.

Get a good pal to tutor you in the basics of the game. I recommend choosing a male friend, not boyfriend, who is a patient soul. Also, you are best learning from a taped game, so that he already knows the outcome and won’t mind stopping the tape to explain what just happened. I was totally anti-football until a good friend sat me down with a taped game and a few brews. Thanks to his patience and understanding of the game I’m now a regular Sunday inhabitant of the sports bar. Don’t forget to check among your gal pals; you may have a hidden football fan in your midst. The bonus is not just a great lesson, but also a buddy to join you in your foray into NFL Sundays at the sports bar and football fandom!

I will also be following up with a series on the basics of my favorite game.

With its sparkling aqua sea and sugar-white beaches and generally beautiful climate, Barbados is known to be a paradise destination. But when is the very best time to visit this easternmost Caribbean island?

Well, the answer to that depends, because the "very best" depends a lot on you. Consider the pros and cons of both high season and low as you make the determination for yourself of when the very best time is to visit Barbados.

Barbados High Season:

1. Pro: The Climate is Sublime.

The high-season (meaning the most popular time to visit Barbados) spans from mid-December until mid-April. This is when visitors (primarily from North America and Europe) want to escape the cold. The tropical climate of Barbados offers not only the ideal temperature – 75 to 80 Fahrenheit (24-29 degrees Celsius) – but the gentle eastern tradewinds blow during these months, further cooling the island.

2. Con: More Expense, More People.

During the high season the island's tourism industry is at its peak. During very popular periods such as school holidays and Christmas you are well advised to book your trip early.

You should also be aware that during these peak times prices of accommodation and flights will be higher than at other times and restaurants and beaches will be more crowded. However, going at this time will ensure that all attractions are open so you will be able to get a full and action-packed experience of Barbados.

Barbados Low Season:

1. Pro: Budget-Friendly.

Low season runs from mid-April until mid-December and is a budget-friendly time to visit paradise. During this time you will experience lower prices with some hotels lowering their prices by 40% or more. The island will in general be a lot less crowded but this can mean that some resorts will close due to lack of visitors.

2. Con: It's Hot! Beware a Hurricane!

The weather will more than likely be quite muggy as the trade winds are not as prevalent in summer so you may struggle with the humidity levels. You need to be aware that summer is the hurricane season for the Caribbean, particularly August and September.

However, the Caribbean area is vaster than most people think and the chances of any single island being directly hit by a hurricane are very slim. Also, Barbados has not had a hurricane since the 1950s, as it lies outside the usual hurricane path.

Recommendation from a Local on the Best Time to Visit Barbados:

I am not the only Barbadophile who recommends November, early December, and late April as the times you'll find the best of all worlds: The rates for accommodations are still the "low-season" rates to visit the island and the weather is almost-perfect.

The weather on the island of Barbados is actually sunnier and drier than that of many of the other islands in the Caribbean. As it is it is located on the southern edge of the Atlantic hurricane belt, it is not as arid as Aruba but is far away enough from the dense forest of Puerto Rico not to experience as much rainfall. Barbados has an average of 8 to 10 hours of sunshine per day from November to March. If you think that the combination of low humidity and lots of sunshine sounds like bliss … well, you'd be right!

Cheerleading uniforms can present a challenge when trying to keep them clean during football, basketball and soccer seasons. While they can usually be worn for one or two games, they need cleaning after lots of rigorous activity, especially when the uniforms are primarily white or have white trim. If not laundered properly, they can melt, snag, run or discolor.

Here are a few do's and don'ts to make sure your uniform makes it through the cheerleading season uninjured:

-Don't use dry-cleaners. This causes material to stiffen, fade and bubble. It also takes on a yellowish hue, which is very noticeable next to an unblemished uniform.

-The first time you launder it, wash each garment separately in a cold tub of water. Rinse thoroughly in cool water.

-Cheer and Tide laundry detergents are the most popular for colorfast clothing. Use these for regular washing to make sure colors do not bleed or fade. These detergents also get the dirt and odors out, including rings around the wrists and collar.

-Avoid fabric softener, which sets stains and dirt, making it difficult to get the uniform clean.

-If quality detergent is unavailable, soak your uniform in cold water for at least an hour to make it wearable in between washings.

-Be sure to remove items promptly from the washing machine to avoid excess wrinkles.

-Hang up uniform pieces to dry thoroughly using a plastic or molded hanger. Clothespins and wire hangers can make creases and misshape the fabric.

-Don't put your uniform in the clothes dryer. This will round out pleats and may leave bubbles from the heat.

-Don't use a warm iron. This melts the material or leave discolored marks. If you do have excessive wrinkles, you can use a stand up power steamer. Because the heat is not as high as an at home iron, it will not scorch the material.

Uniform care for stains can be tricky. Follow these guidelines for best results:

-Don't use bleach. This strips the color, leaves ugly stains and damages the fabric. White uniforms do not get whiter, they turn yellow.

-Use color-safe bleach alternative or an oxygen-based all-fabric bleach to get out tough stains.

-Soak the garments in cold water before laundering.

-Rub a little detergent into the stained area. Let it stand for a few minutes before laundering as usual.

As with any trade, a contractor entering into the pressure washing industry has their sight on one primary goal. That is to make money and LOTS of it.

This is probably the one common denominator that most pressure wash contractors give as their reason for joining the rank and file as a professional power washing contractor. Obviously there is nothing wrong with making money with your business; this is why you are in business right? Often time a contractors success is measured by prescribed benchmarks passed down from one generation to the next. One of them being how much money do you make? The formula has always been that money equals success. The other is whether or not you are busy? If a contractor is busy, then the old cliche is that they must be successful because their busy. And if a contractor is busy 7 days a week from sun-up to sun-down then obviously they are making great money ~ right?

The Rat Race of Success?

Imagine having a 5 year business plan that yields a surge of growth for your business that everything else in your life is on hold in order to accommodate the abounding growth you experience year after year? The influx of sales calls must be answered within 24 hours preferably. Once answered, then you must schedule the estimates. Do not forget to take the time to proof read your marketing fliers/postcards in between answering all the sales calls and the estimates that you just scheduled. Phone time with your distributor is a must in order to keep the chemicals/soaps stocked. The phone time with your distributor also affords you the opportunity to ask technical questions about the “rattling noise” you hear on your rig when it is in operation. For some of you, if your rig goes down then you are nonoperational at least for the next 24-48 hours at minimum.

Fellow contractors need their time also on the phone with you so they can “bend your ear” for tips and suggestions. Set some time aside at night to keep your companies web presence in the forefront for your customer base and to answer emails from customers that opted to not call you during the day. Training any new employee will take a good chunk out of a work day so plan accordingly. If you are a one-man operation you obviously will need to finesse your washing schedule in order to make time to actually perform the work that was booked from those sales calls mentioned earlier. In the past you were able to make bank deposits every Friday but today you just cannot seem to make it to the bank until after it is closed because you literally have a thousand other priorities going on with the success of your business.

In between this fast operation tempo you may manage to give your significant other a call on the phone to let them know that you will not be able to make it to your sons little league game or your daughters dance recital again as promised. You offer up a sincere and heart felt apology not only to your significant other but more importantly to your child who is obviously upset that you will not be there – again. You had every intention to make it this time when you left for work that morning but as luck would have it a customer frantically called at the last minute saying the stain you applied yesterday was not the right color! Before you hang up with your wife you mention that you will not make it home for dinner either. Has this been your routine lately? Do the demands of your business and the priorities associated with it overshadow the very reason why you are in business of pressure washing in the first place?

What is Your System?

Business growth and the effort that is required to manage that growth can be a pleasant experience as a pressure wash business owner. As your business grows externally i.e. sales, marketing, increase in contracts, you must ensure that you internal business infrastructure i.e. employees, managers, sales team is also growing to compliment this external growth. It is highly recommended that your business plan not only speaks on “systems” but more importantly that you understand the action on your part to place the right people into your business so that the “systems” in writing can turn to “systems” of reality. As business owners, we often overlook the infrastructure portion of our business plan by diverting our attention on only how to get our phone to ring. When this happens we find ourselves running our business in what is commonly known as ‘catch up mode’. This means that no matter what time of the day it is, you are behind schedule or in ‘catch up mode’ because your “systems” still lay dormant. In conjunction with just being behind schedule every day, we also unconsciously run a very high risk of losing out on the joys of spending quality time with our family and loved ones as described in the example above. Does this sound like you?

Who is in Charge?

There is good news and today you are empowered as the owner of your business to stop this cycle of madness and take control of your business instead of letting your business control you. The first step in order to regain control of your business is that you need to arrive to the understanding and belief that constant business growth is not necessarily the only indicator to success. As a pressure washing contractor with a family you owe it to your significant other and children to ensure that the growth of your business does not constantly overshadow the simple things in life that everyone in your household needs and wants.

Who ME??

As business owners, we have the luxury and the ability to ‘scale back’ our time in the field in order to make the time to give our family the attention they deserve. Why? Because you are the owner and the BOSS. That is right; YOU call the shots on the day to day operations and at what the operation tempo of your day will be like. If your ‘systems’ action plan only got as far as it being written on a piece of paper then you run a very high risk of burning yourself out very quickly. Coupled this along with the mental peer pressure from your significant other that you have not spent quality time with your family in the last 4-6 months, it is plausible that one day you may wake up and realize that you do not enjoy what you are doing i.e. pressure washing.

Instead of starting your pressure wash season with only the purpose of making as much money as you can, could it be feasible that you approach your pressure wash season with the mind set that your business and family will sustain a “balance” through out the year? Oh the joy of seeing a young boys face light up when he sees BOTH parents sitting in the bleachers to watch his little league game in the middle of the afternoon; Or the smile from ear-to-ear when a young daughter happily jumps into your arms because you came to pick her up from school. Establishing the right “systems” in your pressure washing business takes time and ultimately some trial and error. It is okay if you do not get it right after several attempts but be mindful and confident that you will get there eventually. Managing the growth of your company may even mean temporarily not growing at all until you able to find the right individuals that posses the skill set your business needs to take it to that next plateau.

Time To Reflect

If you find yourself in the middle of the pressure wash gauntlet today, take a moment and reflect on what is really important in your life on your terms. Ask yourself why you became a pressure washing contractor in the first place? Was it because you and your family wanted the freedom that you could not obtain working for someone else? If so, where is that freedom today? Take inventory on how your time away from the family may be viewed by your significant other and your children today. If making money at all costs is what drives you then congratulations on your success. If you seek that “balance” between pressure washing and family remember that you are empowered to be in control of your days. One of rewards of being a business owner is that you have the ability to keep any schedule that you wish.

I personally know a pressure washing contractor located in Kentucky that has carved out a pretty decent pressure washing business. One of the keys to his success is that he manages his business verses letting his business manage him. It is not uncommon for him to be out riding his Harley in the afternoon or taking his beautiful family to a local restaurant for an early supper on any given day. This is a prime example of how one pressure washing contractor has taking advantage of why he is in business in the first place; that is to enjoy life. I do not know how much money he makes a year but I would guess that he, along with other pressure washing contractors that have mastered this “balance” between work and family, is probably one of the richest guys in the industry and has very little if any to do with the size of his bank account.

Lets Go Out for Dinner

So as your phone continues to ring off the hook and you are attempting to be superman for all your customers all at one time, stop and asked yourself whether or not ‘is it really about all the money?’ If so, continue on your journey and you should be applauded for your sacrifice. If not, I am sure you would be superman, at least for that night, to your family when you show up at the house unannounced to tell them you are taking them out to dinner!

When choosing to invest in a slow pitch softball bat (sometimes called “sticks”), there’s a lot of things that you might like to consider… bat material, length, weight, weight distribution, and grip. You then need to correlate these items for your build and preferences because unfortunately slow pitch bats usually are not always one-size-fits-all. Let’s go into the important points to determine if we can help demystify the process.

Bat Material

Slow pitch bats come basically in two unique materials, composite or metal. There are positives and negatives to each, however the majority of companies have moved most of their business to employing the composite materials for slow pitch softball. Normally the composites are usually the better alternative due to their durability, capability to perform in colder climates, along with the innovations in composite technology.

Bat Length

When it comes to slow pitch softball, almost all the sticks come in a 34-inch size which is the greatest length allowed by league policies. Nearly all slow pitch players don’t need to be concerned in regards to smaller bat length unless you are really small and/or not heavy enough to swing the 34-inch. If that is the situation, the player may possibly consider choking up on the handle to essentially decrease the swing length.

Typically bat weights vary from 26 ounces to 30 ounces, but you may find some that exceed these regular ranges. The primary principle behind bat weight is that if the ball player is able to maintain a constant swing speed when utilizing both a light and heavy bat, then the batted-ball speed shall be highest for the heavier bat. The best results are obtained by swinging a heavier bat quicker, but it is something which most average players cannot do and still keep control over the bat while swinging it. If you must choose, we’d encourage employing a lighter weight bat due to the fact that swing speed in slow pitch is likely to rule a great deal more than bat weight for the reason that high swing speed is really what will flex the walls of the bat at ball-impact, thus enhancing the trampoline effect from the bat wall.

Note: For a reference point, I’m 5′ 11″ and 195 pounds. My greatest performance comes from using a 26 ounce bat. I have tried out bats up to 28 ounce, but those all frequently decrease my swing speed further than the gain produced with the heavier bat.

Weight Distribution

Bats for slow pitch softball can be bought in two distinctive weight distributions: balanced and end-loaded. These variations in weight distribution can lead to the sense of a light-weight or heavy swing weight of the bat. To get a little bit nerdy for you, it truly comes down to the location of the balance point (or center-of-mass) and the moment-of-inertia. Basically, the idea here is that the way the bat weight is distributed along the length of the bat can affect bat swing speed just as significantly as the varying overall bat weights. The nearer the bat’s balance point is to the handle, the simpler it can be to swing and manage the bat barrel.

Look at two bats that are identical in length and have a 26-ounce weight. If you pick them up and swing them, you are able to undoubtedly distinguish the swing feel between the two. Bat 1 has a balance point that’s 23 inches from the handle and Bat 2 has a balance point of 20.5 inches from the end of the handle. Bat 1 will have a much bigger moment of inertia (i.e. hit harder) than Bat 2 should they be swung with the same exact bat speed. However, as stated previously, the bat with the weight nearer to the handle is a lot easier to swing and control. The bat using the weight farther from the handle is more tricky to control and likely to lower your bat swing speed a result of the bigger moment of inertia. Let us reiterate here that bat speed governs in slow pitch because the high bat speed creates the trampoline effect of your bat walls when it strikes the softball.

There you have it, if you are a big bruiser and can swing an end-loaded bat fast and with excellent control, then that’s the weight distribution for you. The majority of slow pitch players cannot do that and need to work with a balanced bat that should provide them maximum performance. Personally I favor a balanced bat.

The grip bats usually come in are leather or synthetic leather. Occasionally grips can come with cushioning to absorb shock. Grip selection tends not to be considered a factor in bat selection, especially given that if you don’t like the grip you could change it out with a different one.

There it is, happy bat hunting!

Joe Namath came out of the University of Alabama to become the darling of the AFL as the quarterback of the New York Jets. During his career, despite a number of injuries, he would develop into one of the better quarterbacks in the league and eventually get elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It can be argued that there was no more important football player in the American Football League than Joe Namath. He was brash and garnered a lot of press. He also provided a lot of legitimacy to the young league based on his talent. Predicting a Super Bowl II victory for his Jets over the Colts of the more established National Football League was just icing on the cake.

Namath has not only gone down as one of the best is either league, he is also fondly remembered and always associated with the franchise he starred for, the New York Jets.

During his career, Namath threw passes to a number of receivers. Some of those players were household names and some were just your average ordinary every day pro football player. Which one was his favorite though? Who caught the most touchdown passes from Broadway Joe?

Don Maynard caught more touchdown passes thrown by Joe Namath than any other player. To be honest, it is not even really close as Maynard hauled in 42 of Namath’s TDs and the second place player on the list only came in at 27.

Other than Maynard, who was a great player, Namath always lacked having that superstar receiver that other great quarterbacks can rely on over the course of their entire career.

Are you taking prediction football as a game, or do you seriously want to make some serious money from it? While it seems like most people who bet on the game are motivated by money, there are hobby players who do it more for fun and pride. If you are truly serious about making money from prediction football results and placing your bets on it, there are definitely things which you should take note of that can significantly improve your chances for winning.

Firstly, you need to understand that you can be the best fantasy football player in this world, or the most knowledgeable person there is on the topic of football, but these things do not guarantee that you will win. The thing with football betting is, there are factors such as handicaps and your payout odds that give the sports books an advantage. Regardless of how good you are at prediction football results, if you cannot overcome the house edge, you will be losing money at the end of the day.

To counter this, many of the best and biggest football bettors have hired mathematicians to develop intricate prediction football systems. The purpose of these systems is not to predict the exact result of every single football match. Rather, each system uses its own algorithm to process data that have been accumulated throughout the years, and come back with its picks on the few bets that have the highest chances of winnings.

Truth be told, less than 1% of people who bet on football games make a consistent profit. The key to join the elites and generate recurring income by profiting through accurate predictions of match outcome, is to simply ride on the very system that the successful players developed through years of statistics review. Getting 20% of all match results right may be a pretty good score in predicting the results of football matches, but if you take such stats to the football betting tables, you will be in for a rude shock.

Despite what “experts” on the media are saying, there is no magic formula in making a fortune from football betting. It’s a straightforward path of identifying and testing the systems which consistently deliver successes, and once you finally find it, prediction football will be just as profitable as it is fun.

Remember those days where you would collect football trading cards? It was a matter of honor to collect cards of your favorite NFL team. Whether, you purchased a limited edition card or one of lesser value, you went to great lengths to keep them in a good condition. These cards not only reflected upon your hobby as a youth, they also demonstrated your love for American football. Now, that you're a lot older, you've stopped bringing your prized binder to school and probably follow top players on social media platforms. If given a chance to engage with them face-to-face, would not you take up the offer? Start-ups including Fandeavor, Thuzio, and Zozi can fulfill your lifelong dream. If your business also targets niche customers, use live chat support software to interact with them.

Dr. Lynda Falkenstein (author of Nichecraft: Using your Specialness to Focus Your Business, Corner Your Market & Make Customers Seek You Out) believes it is essential to craft a lucrative niche in order to survive in today's razor sharp competition. She explains "Many people talk about 'finding' a niche as if it were something under a rock or at the end of the rainbow, ready-made. That's nonsense!" She warns entrepreneurs, "Smaller is bigger in business, and smaller is not all over the map; it is highly focused." The price elasticity of demand is in line with her statement. According to its rule, products that are targeted to wide demographics are priced for less. Conversely, products that are aimed at narrator demographics are sold at elevated prices.

As temptation as it is to reach out to everyone, the author exclaims, "You must recognize that you can not do business with everyone". In order to create a good niche, identify what geographic range your business will cover and what type of customers do you want to do business with. After you've identified your customer base, you have to align your experiences and interests to create a business that will be one-of-a-kind. Online retailers can leverage the Internet as a strategic tool. First of all, create a website which will effectively showcase products that appeal to customers' needs and wants. Secondly, use live chat support software to provide them customer support.

Best live chat software is an online CRM application which connects consumers to niche e-tailors through the use of live chat technology. Upon entering the website, customers interact with a courteous customer service representative (CSR). Unlike competitive live chat tools, best live chat software proactively approaches customers for a one-on-one conversation. CSRs do not sit idle waiting upon customers to reach out for help. They analyze keyword searches, webpage duration, and the referral URL. Once web analytics investigates a customer is stuck, CSRs proactively send a chat invitation. Once a live chat session commences, niche buyers can convey their problems and obtain answers to an assortment of questions regarding company policies and product features.

A financial disaster is threatening the English and Spanish leagues.  The economic disaster that has affected the world of business does not appear to be sparing the world of football.

In these two countries football clubs spend a lot of money not yet earned to acquire the best players and also to pay players salaries that all other businesses simply dream about.

The Times of London has gone as far as calling it ‘financial doping’ whereby short term success can be bought at the expense of long term financial stability.

But there are clubs that are either leaving within their means or do understand the dynamics of football business that starts with understanding the value of fans.  Real Madrid and Barcelona come to mind.

It is believed that Barcelona has to around 44 million fans around the world.  You can imagine how much the club can collect from the sell of jerseys to just a half of that support base.

The Barcelona museum is another example of proper football business management and marketing.  This museum receives a million people through it’s doors every year paying something like seven Euros each.

But for any football league around the world looking for a blue print on how best to run football and football business the obvious choice would be the English League but regrettably it is not the best example on how to run football.

The English League does not start and stop with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.  There are sixteen or so other clubs that are not doing as well as the top four on all levels of football business.  Their stadiums are not full through out the season.  The English game is also laden with debt.

The English game best foot forward has been the marketing of their game world wide.  They have been able to promote their game to every corner of the world.

But, for all those football leagues and clubs looking for the best league to learn from they should not look any further than the German Bundesliga.  The Bundesliga  is the benchmark organisation in many areas.

The Bundesliga has the highest average attendance per game through the season through out Europe and possibly world wide.

83% of the clubs are in financially sound, incomes of players are capped not to run down the clubs.

The Bundesliga clubs have the highest average sponsorship per club in Europe.

The Bundesliga has also the best stadium atmosphere in Europe and possibly the world.

Each club is also obliged to have a youth academy.  Regular checks are carried out on every club to ensure that laid out criteria of running these academies is maintained.  The rationale is that it is better to grow stars than buy them.

So for any football organization looking for a league to copy and learn from possibly think Bundesliga.

Home wins will dominate this weekend's results, Tottenham will pip Arsenal to fourth spot and Bolton will play in the Intertoto Cup this summer at the expense of Newcastle wrists David Walker.

Arsenal vs Wigan Athletic

Following Thursday's 3-1 win at Manchester City, Arsenal need to win this match if they have any hope of pipping Tottenham to fourth place. After a concested fixture list due to their final appearance in the Champions League they have won seven of their last 10 matches and have won 13 matches in front of their own fans this season. The Gunners have not been beaten at Highbury since West Ham's 3-2 victory on 1 February while Wigan have lost three out of their last four and have won just three of their last nine matches.
Walker's Word: Close, but no cigar, Arsenal @ 1/4.

Aston Villa vs Sunderland

Matches between these two are traditionally low scoring affairs. Five Premiership meetings at Villa Park all have produced two goals or less with Villa winning 1-0 twice, drawing 1-1 once and twice 0-0. Sunderland have been awful all season but have produced two away victories against fellow relegated sides West Brom and Middlesbrough and finally won at home against Fulham on Thursday. Villa will most likely win but are no value at the available price, especially with Sunderland buoyed by their recent victory. A bet on the "unders" is a more sensible investment.
Walker's Word: Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5.

Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester City

Blackburn secured sixth place in the league and UEFA Cup football with a win against Champions Chelsea on Tuesday but will want to close the gap on both Arsenal and Spurs to mark a successful season. They will not have a better opportunity to finish the season on a high against a poor City team which has lost nine of their last 11 matches. Victories against Aston Villa and Sunderland being the only bright spots in a dismal run of results.
Walker's Word: More misery for City, home win @ 7/10.

Bolton Wanderers vs Birmingham City

Birmingham are unbeaten on their last two visits to the Reebok but were on the end of a 4-2 beating back in 2003. Bolton have a solid home record of late, winning four of their last six with defeats coming against Manchester United and Chelsea. Birmingham owner David Sullivan criticized his players commit this week which will not do much for overall squad morale. Steve Bruce's side have not won in 11 matches on the road since beating Sunderland 1-0 on 26 November.
Walker's Word: Home win @ 8/13.

Everton vs West Bromwich Albion

Everton has won the last two meetings at Goodison Park and will want revenge for the 4-0 hammering that they received by the relegated Baggies back in November. Everton were on a bad run then but have improved considering in the outstanding months and only lost three in their last 10 matches. David Moyes' side have won six in their last 10 home matches but not won in their last three in front of their home fans. This will be a great way to sign off on a positive note and try and achieve a top 10 finish. West Brom are without a win in 12 and have lost four of the last seven away.
Walker's Word: Everton to finish stiffly @ 4/6.

Fulham vs Middlesbrough

Fulham have won three of last four head to head meetings at Craven Cottage but were beaten 2-0 last season. Fulham have a superb home record this season, winning 12 out of 16 matches and finally won their first match away from home last weekend at Manchester City. I would not be surprised if a host of Middlesbrough first team regulars are rested in view of the UEFA Cup final on 10 May so a home win is the call here.
Walker's Word: Fulham's home form to prevail @ 8/11.

Manchester United vs Charlton Athletic

United must win this match at all costs if they are to finish second in the Premiership after dropping seemingly "banker" points to Middlesbrough and Sunderland in recent weeks. Alex Ferguson's side have won five out of six Premiership meetings at Old Trafford while Charlton has not won on the road in 13 attempts. Alan Curbishley will be ending his tenure with the Addicks with a third consecutive defeat.
Walker's Word: One for the big hitters, United @ 1/4.

Newcastle United vs Chelsea

Newcastle are unbeaten in last three meetings at St James' Park, drawing 1-1 last season and winning two meetings prior to that. However, after losing to Blackburn in midweek, Chelsea will not tolerate two defeats on the spin following their title win and may just spoil Newcastle's party. If the Magpies lose and Bolton beat Birmingham, it will be Sam Allardyce's side that finishes seventh and earns a place in the Intertoto Cup.
Walker's Word: Chelsea to finish with a win @ 7/5.

Portsmouth vs Liverpool

Portmsouth have won six out of nine but now they have secured survival for another season the edge may be taken off their performance. The same can not be said for Liverpool who chasing second spot along with Manchester United and only a win will do. Liverpool have won their last eight matches, 10 if you include their involvement in the FA Cup and have won their last four on the road.
Walker's Word: Liverpool to make it nine in a row @ 7/10.

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham have enjoyed a fantastic season on their return to the Premiership and have secured UEFA Cup football due to reaching the FA Cup final. The squad may have their minds on the FA Cup and manager Alan Pardew may rest key players while Tottenham need a win to guarantee themselves a fourth placed finish and a possible Champions League spot next term. Spurs are looking to finish strongly after their derby draw with Arsenal and defeat of Bolton and one final push should see them finish ahead of bitter rivals Arsenal no matter what the result in their clash with Wigan Athletic.
Walker's Word: Tottenham @ 5/6.
